NBA League Pass in Canada (2026-27): Plans, Blackouts, Prime Video and Bell

Updated 21 sources

The short answer

Yes, NBA League Pass is sold in Canada, and it's best for following US teams' out-of-market games. It blacks out every game that's broadcast nationally in Canada, such as Raptors games on TSN or Sportsnet; those games are on demand roughly 3 hours after they end. Certain NBA Cup games, All-Star Weekend and the playoffs after the first round are blacked out live too.

NBA.com sells two full plans, for the season or by the month: League Pass (with commercials, on 1 device at a time) and League Pass Premium (no commercials, up to 3 devices, downloads to watch offline). Team Pass is a monthly plan for one out-of-market team.

You can also add it as a channel in Prime Video (it isn't part of Prime, which includes Prime Video's own NBA games) or, as a Bell TV residential customer, add it on Fibe TV channels 1415 and 1471–1481. For the Raptors, use TSN and Sportsnet, plus Prime Video: its announced schedule includes two Raptors games, and it has the exclusive Play-In and Eastern Conference Finals and select first- and second-round playoff games.

What is NBA League Pass in Canada?

NBA League Pass is the NBA's own streaming subscription. The NBA calls it “the best way to stream out-of-market NBA games live and on demand,” with full game replays, condensed games and alternate feeds such as each team's home and away broadcasts. You can buy it from the NBA on NBA.com or in the NBA app, and it is also sold through Prime Video and Bell TV.

In Canada there is one big catch: League Pass blacks out every game that is broadcast nationally in Canada. Those games come back on demand roughly 3 hours after they end. Certain NBA Cup games, All-Star Weekend and playoff games after the first round are blacked out live too (see blackouts below), so League Pass suits fans who follow US teams, not fans who mainly want the Raptors.

NBA.com shows the current prices when you choose a plan.

NBA.com says a season-long plan gives you live games through the end of the regular season, plus on-demand access through the playoffs and from June to September. It renews automatically before the next season, and the NBA emails you 30 days before the charge; to stop it, opt out of the renewal. Monthly plans can be paused or cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing cycle.

Which plan should you get?

  • League Pass if you watch on one screen and don't mind commercials.
  • League Pass Premium if people in your home watch on more than one device at the same time (up to 3), or you want to download games to watch offline.
  • Team Pass if you follow one out-of-market team, such as the Lakers or the Warriors.
  • None of them if you mainly want the Raptors: see watching the Raptors below.

NBA League Pass blackouts in Canada

The NBA's help page is direct: in Canada, League Pass blackouts include all nationally broadcast games. Those games are available on demand roughly 3 hours after the game has ended. On top of that, Canadian fans don't get live access on League Pass to:

  • certain NBA Cup games;
  • All-Star Weekend;
  • playoff games after the first round (on demand roughly 3 hours after they end).

Where do you watch a blacked-out game live? The NBA says Canadians should be able to see it on “a national broadcaster such as Sportsnet or TSN.” Raptors coverage is split between TSN and Sportsnet, so League Pass isn't the way to watch the Raptors live.

Blackouts follow your location

Blackouts are based on your current location, which the NBA sets from your IP address or, if they're turned on, your device's location services. To see which games are blacked out, the NBA points Canadian fans to its Canadian blackout schedule, which is NBA.com's schedule for Canada.

Where to buy NBA League Pass in Canada

Ways to get League Pass in Canada include the NBA (on NBA.com or in the NBA app), a Prime Video add-on channel and Bell TV. The NBA's Canadian blackout rules are written for League Pass in Canada, and Bell's terms say blackouts may apply to its version.

NBA League Pass on Prime Video in Canada

In Canada, Prime Video offers NBA League Pass and NBA TV as add-on channels. That is a separate add-on subscription, not part of a Prime membership, and it is a different thing from the NBA games Prime Video carries itself.

Prime Video's own NBA games vs League Pass on Prime Video

So if you already have Prime, you already have Prime Video's NBA games. League Pass, on Prime Video or elsewhere, adds out-of-market games beyond those, with its Canadian blackouts; TSN and Sportsnet carry many US games too. The NBA's League Pass blackouts page names only Sportsnet and TSN for Canada and, apart from its rule for playoff games after the first round, doesn't say how League Pass treats Prime Video's games there, so for one of those, watch it on Prime Video, and check the NBA's schedule for Canada before you count on League Pass.

League Pass makes the most sense if you follow a team from the US. A fan of the Lakers, Warriors, Celtics or Knicks gets that team's out-of-market regular-season games, minus the ones League Pass blacks out in Canada (games broadcast nationally here and certain NBA Cup games), with national games on demand roughly 3 hours after they end. For a game on Prime Video, watch it on Prime Video, or check the NBA's schedule for Canada before you count on League Pass. Each team page lists that team's upcoming games, with the Canadian channel where it's been announced.

Watching the Raptors: TSN, Sportsnet and Prime Video

Raptors coverage is split between TSN and Sportsnet: Sportsnet's announced 2025-26 schedule had 41 national Raptors broadcasts, on Sportsnet, Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet+. For 2026-27, Sportsnet+ lists 35 regular-season Raptors games; TSN hadn't published its 2026-27 regular-season Raptors schedule as of Oct 1, 2026. To watch them live you need both networks, on TV or through their streaming services.

  • Sportsnet+: Sportsnet+ says both plans include 35 regular-season Raptors games and “half of all playoff games,” along with 200+ US NBA games. Standard is $34.99/month (as of October 2026, plus tax).
  • Sportsnet+ TV Provider Add-on: for people who already get Sportsnet through a TV provider, at $12.99/month (as of October 2026, plus tax). It adds 125+ NBA matchups on top of the Sportsnet channels you already get through your TV provider.
  • TSN Standard, at $24.99/month (as of October 2026, plus tax), streams TSN1–5 live, including the NBA. TSN Premium, at $29.99/month (as of October 2026, plus tax), adds 75 more NBA games.
  • Prime Video, included with Prime: its announced 2026-27 schedule includes two Raptors games, against the Pistons (Nov 20, 2026) and the Timberwolves (Jan 7, 2027), and it has the exclusive Play-In and Eastern Conference Finals and select first- and second-round playoff games.
  • In French: RDS carries select Raptors and NBA games.

For game-by-game channels, see the Toronto Raptors page. More ways to watch the NBA in Canada are in how to watch the NBA in Canada, and the two networks are compared in Sportsnet vs TSN. For tonight's games and channels, see what's on tonight.

  • Prime Video: NBA TV is offered as an add-on channel, alongside League Pass.
  • Rogers: the Sports theme pack, at $25/month (as of October 2026, plus tax), includes NBA TV Canada, along with Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, TSN1–5 and more, where it's available for your TV service.

Frequently asked questions

Is NBA League Pass available in Canada?

Yes. You can buy NBA League Pass on NBA.com or in the NBA app, add it as a channel in Prime Video, or, as a Bell TV residential customer, add Bell's NBA League Pass with NBA TV Canada package, which is on Fibe TV channels 1415 and 1471–1481. In Canada, League Pass blacks out every game that is broadcast nationally here, such as Raptors games on TSN or Sportsnet. Those games are available on demand roughly 3 hours after they end.

How much is NBA League Pass in Canada?

Check the price where you buy it. NBA.com shows the current prices when you choose a plan: League Pass and League Pass Premium, for the season or by the month, and Team Pass, a monthly plan for one out-of-market team. In the NBA app, the price is shown when you subscribe; on Prime Video Channels, check the League Pass channel's price before you subscribe. Bell's sports-packages page listed no price for it as of October 2026; Bell sends the regular-season price to subscribers before each season. The NBA's Canadian blackouts apply to League Pass, so check which games you'd get live before you pay.

What is the difference between League Pass and League Pass Premium?

NBA.com describes both as having the most live games, and both include Multiview of up to 4 games at once (on select devices). League Pass has commercials and streams on 1 device at a time. League Pass Premium has no commercials (you see in-arena streams during breaks), streams on up to 3 devices at the same time and lets you download games to watch offline. Both are sold on NBA.com for the season or by the month.

Does NBA League Pass have blackouts in Canada?

Yes. In Canada, League Pass blacks out all nationally broadcast games live; they are available on demand roughly 3 hours after the game ends. Certain NBA Cup games, All-Star Weekend and playoff games after the first round are also blacked out live. The NBA says blacked-out games should be available on a national broadcaster such as Sportsnet or TSN. Blackouts follow your current location, which the NBA sets from your IP address or location services.

Can I watch Raptors games on NBA League Pass in Canada?

Not live when the game is on TSN or Sportsnet: Raptors coverage is split between TSN and Sportsnet, and League Pass blacks out games broadcast nationally in Canada. Watch them on TSN and Sportsnet, on TV or through their streaming services (TSN Standard or TSN Premium, and Sportsnet+), plus Prime Video, whose announced schedule includes two Raptors games, against the Pistons (Nov 20, 2026) and the Timberwolves (Jan 7, 2027), and which has the exclusive Play-In and Eastern Conference Finals and select first- and second-round playoff games. Sportsnet+ says both of its plans include 35 regular-season Raptors games and “half of all playoff games.” Nationally broadcast games come to League Pass on demand roughly 3 hours after they end.

Is NBA League Pass on Prime Video in Canada?

Yes. In Canada, Prime Video offers NBA League Pass and NBA TV as add-on channels. League Pass on Prime Video is a separate add-on subscription, not part of Prime, so check its price on Prime Video before you subscribe. Don't confuse it with Prime Video's own NBA games, which are included with Prime from 2026-27: an opening doubleheader on Friday, Oct 23, 2026, five straight weeks of NBA Cup group-play doubleheaders from Oct 30, 2026, the exclusive Paris and Manchester Global Games (Jan 14 and Jan 17, 2027), the exclusive Play-In (6 games) and Eastern Conference Finals, and select first- and second-round playoff games, in English.

Is NBA League Pass included with Amazon Prime?

No. A Prime membership includes Prime Video's own NBA games in Canada, not League Pass. League Pass is a separate add-on channel in Prime Video, or you can buy it on NBA.com or in the NBA app. Amazon Prime is $9.99/month or $99/year. Prices in Canadian dollars as of October 2026, plus tax.

What channel is NBA League Pass on Bell Fibe?

Bell's NBA League Pass with NBA TV Canada package is on Fibe TV channels 1415 and 1471–1481 (HD), and on Bell Satellite TV channels 852, 1418 and 1470–1480 (HD). It is for current Bell TV residential customers. The subscription continues from season to season: Bell sends the regular-season price and the cancellation deadline before each season, and there are no cancellations or refunds once the season has started.

When can I watch a blacked-out game on League Pass?

In Canada, nationally broadcast games are available on demand on League Pass roughly 3 hours after the game ends. Playoff games after the first round, which are blacked out live in Canada, are on demand roughly 3 hours after they end too. The NBA's blackout page gives no on-demand timing for blacked-out NBA Cup or All-Star Weekend games. To watch one live, use the broadcaster that has it: the NBA names Sportsnet and TSN, and Prime Video has the exclusive Eastern Conference Finals and select first- and second-round playoff games.

Can I watch the NBA playoffs on League Pass in Canada?

Not reliably live. In Canada, League Pass blacks out playoff games after the first round, and first-round games that are broadcast nationally in Canada are blacked out too; they are on demand roughly 3 hours after they end. NBA.com also says season-long plans include live games through the end of the regular season, with on-demand access through the playoffs, so don't count on a season-long plan for live playoff games. For live playoff games, Prime Video has select first- and second-round games and the exclusive Eastern Conference Finals, and Sportsnet+ lists “half of all playoff games” in both of its plans.

Is there a League Pass for just one team?

Yes. NBA.com offers Team Pass, a monthly plan for following any one out-of-market team. League Pass's Canadian blackouts still apply, so it doesn't replace TSN and Sportsnet for the Raptors.

Can I cancel NBA League Pass?

On NBA.com, monthly plans can be paused or cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing cycle. Season-long plans renew automatically before the next season, and the NBA emails you 30 days before the charge; you cancel by opting out of the renewal. Bell's NBA League Pass with NBA TV Canada package has no cancellations or refunds once the season has started.
