About Showdar

Updated

Showdar answers one question: what channel is the game on? It lists where to watch NHL, NBA and MLB games in Canada (the channel, the regional feed and the streaming service) and publishes guides that explain Canadian sports TV rights, streaming plans and blackouts.

Showdar is independent. It isn't affiliated with the NHL, NBA, MLB or any league or broadcaster.

Where the listings come from

Game dates, times and matchups come from the leagues' own schedule data. Channel listings combine the leagues' broadcast data with schedule data published by Canadian broadcasters such as Sportsnet and TSN.

Broadcasters sometimes change a channel or add a regional feed close to game time. If a listing doesn't match what you see, your TV provider's guide or the broadcaster's own schedule is the final word.

Editorial and accuracy policy

  • Checked against primary sources. Guides are fact-checked against broadcaster and league sources: announcements, schedules, pricing pages and help centres. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom of the page.
  • Dated. Every guide shows when it was last updated. That date changes only for substantive updates, not for typo fixes.
  • Every fact has a source and a date. Prices, rights deals and channel details are stored with their source and the date they were last checked, and are flagged for re-checking once that date is more than four months old.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax, and show the month they were checked. Streaming prices change often; the provider's own site is the final word.
  • No guessing. When sources disagree or a detail isn't confirmed, we leave it out or say so.

Corrections

Spotted a mistake? Email support@showdar.tv with the page and what's wrong. We fix confirmed errors, and when a correction changes what a guide says, its “Updated” date changes too.
