Updated 29 sources
The short answer
Not for NHL games. CBC no longer airs NHL games on Hockey Night in Canada (HNIC) from the 2026-27 season, ending a 74-year run. Sportsnet's Saturday NHL broadcast is now Saturday Night Hockey, a weekly doubleheader on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ with Ron MacLean, Elliotte Friedman, Kevin Bieksa and Colby Armstrong, starting Saturday, Oct 3, 2026.
The Hockey Night in Canada name isn't gone: CBC kept the trademark, and from Dec 5, 2026, CBC's Hockey Night in Canada carries the PWHL: 8 Saturday primetime games, free on CBC and CBC Gem.
To watch Saturday Night Hockey, you need Sportsnet in your TV package or Sportsnet+ Standard at $34.99/month (as of October 2026, plus tax), which includes all national Saturday Night Hockey games.

Was Hockey Night in Canada cancelled?
The NHL version ended.
National NHL rights belong to Rogers. Its 12-year, C$11B deal runs from 2026-27 through 2037-38 and covers all national NHL rights in Canada, in every language. The deal lets Rogers sublicense games: the national Wednesday Night Hockey package went to Prime Video, and a French-language national package to TVA Sports. Citytv no longer carries NHL games either.
The name lives on. CBC kept the “Hockey Night in Canada” trademark, and from Dec 5, 2026, CBC's Hockey Night in Canada carries the PWHL (what's on CBC). Sportsnet's Saturday NHL show is now Saturday Night Hockey.
