Canadian sports channels FAQ
What are the main sports channels in Canada?
Sportsnet (Rogers: Sportsnet Pacific, West, Ontario and East, Sportsnet One, Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet World), TSN (Bell: TSN1 to TSN5) and CBC, and in French, TVA Sports (Québecor: TVA Sports and TVA Sports 2) and RDS (Bell: RDS, RDS2 and RDS Info). Prime Video has the NHL's Wednesday Night Hockey, included with Prime.
Is TSN the same as Sportsnet?
No. TSN and Sportsnet are separate, competing networks: TSN belongs to Bell, Sportsnet to Rogers. RDS is TSN's French-language sister network; TVA Sports is a separate Québecor network.
What channel is the hockey game on?
Rogers holds all national NHL rights in Canada. Sportsnet's Saturday broadcast is Saturday Night Hockey, and in English, Saturday-night games are exclusive to Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. In English, Monday Night Hockey is Sportsnet+ exclusive content; Rogers and Shaw TV customers with Sportsnet get it at no extra cost. Wednesday Night Hockey is exclusive to Prime Video. Regional games are on Sportsnet for the Canucks, Oilers and Flames, on TSN for the Jets, Senators and Canadiens (in English), and on TSN4 for most Maple Leafs regional games. In French, TVA Sports holds a 12-year national sublicence, Prime Video's Wednesday Night Hockey is also in French, and RDS has the Canadiens' and Senators' regional games. CBC no longer airs NHL games.
Can I watch Canadian sports channels without cable?
Yes. Sportsnet+ Standard costs $34.99/month, TSN Standard $24.99/month, TVA Sports Direct $24.99/month and RDS $24.99/month. Prices in Canadian dollars as of October 2026, plus tax. Prime Video's Wednesday Night Hockey is included with Prime, and Hockey Night in Canada's PWHL games are free on CBC and CBC Gem from Dec 5, 2026.
